Pheasant and chicken

Michael S. Schneider writes in
A Beginner's Guide to Constructing
the Universe
:

“Ten represents a recapitulation of the whole. It holds within itself the two parents of numbers (one and two) and their seven children (three through nine). Ten is a portrait of the whole family of archetypes gathered together, simultaneously displaying each of their principles. Expressing the properties of all numbers, ten represents a synergy, a whole greater than the sum of its parts, beyond the threshold of number itself… Ten takes us beyond the realm of number itself, above the fray of ordinary numerical interactions and geometric relationships. It is a new beginning, a journey into limitlessness.”

Dasa is the Sanskrit word for ten.
